Hungarian king Sigismund of Luxembourg after the
war against Bosnia, separated Srebrenica from its composition, famous
for its silver mines, and he gave it to the Serbian despot Stefan
Lazarevic in 1411.
Stefan Lazarevic began its reign in the region with a heavy act. When the miners in Srebrenica rebelled, he ordered penalties for the ringleaders by putting an ardent pebble under their knees, and so they remained forever crippled.
In the old Serbian cyrillic document "Life of the serbian despot Stefan Lazarevic", written by his biographer Konstantin Philosopher, is described how Srebrenica is conquered from Bosnia and for its people it says:

In this document the
inhabitants of Srebrenica are described as well as members of the
Bogomil heresy, who in 1427 rebelled against the tyrant government of
the serbian despot Stefan Lazarevic.
